Creole Queen

Creole Queen at the Riverwalk/Canal Street Dock

Forget dining al fresco. This is dining al fiume (river). As the sun sets over New Orleans, take in sweeping views of the Crescent City and her unmistakable skyline on the one and only Paddlewheeler Creole Queen. The Mississippi River Dinner Jazz Cruise buffet covers Creole cuisine’s greatest hits, including seafood gumbo, jambalaya and bread pudding, but this is one meal in New Orleans where the food is trumped by the scenery. Three well-appointed dining rooms are surrounded by windows that surrender romantic, moonlit views of the river and Port of New Orleans. Pre- and post-dinner ambling along the outer decks with a cocktail in hand is an absolute must.

The next time I am in New Orleans, I plan to cruise down the Mississippi on the Creole Queen.
